Kaysville Youth Court
The youth court in Kaysville is a juvenile justice opportunity. According to the program’s website, it was developed by concerned youth at Davis High School working in cooperation with the Kaysville City Council and Mayor’s office, the Kaysville Police Department, Davis High School, Kaysville Junior High School, Fairfield Junior High School, Centennial Junior High School, and concerned citizens of Kaysville City.
The court serves youth under the age of 18 who have been referred for a minor offense (class B misdemeanor or lower). Youth referred to the court must admit their guilt and must not have appeared before the court in the past 12 months.
Common penalties served by the court include community service, tutoring, financial restitution progress reports, essays and apology letters.
