Juvenile Diversion Programs

Weber County offers alternative sentencing for juvenile offenders, including:

  • NCTI Youth Crossroads – is a cognitive behavioral evidence‐based program that offers an extensive library of juvenile curricula. The curricula consists of a variety of offense-specific titles that target specific interventions that address criminogenic risk factors that help reduce the risk of re-offending.
  • Carey Guides – is a set of 33 Guides that address specific topics related to criminogenic needs and other critical case management issues, which help youth to change behaviors in critical skills deficit areas.
  • Aggression Replacement Therapy (ART) – is a cognitive behavioral, delinquency-reduction focused program. It targets risk factors that sustain delinquent behavior by utilizing anger control strategies and interpersonal skills training.
    In addition, the 3rd District offers restorative justice and interventions services, as well as families first, ISAT and counseling.
  • Juvenile Court Work Crew Program – The work crew program provides a place where juveniles who owe community service hours or restitution can work off their hours in a safe and supervised environment. The work crew program works closely with multiple agencies and organizations throughout Davis and Weber county.

Drug Court Programs

For many charged with drug possession and abuse, the alternative to jail time may be drug rehabilitation and treatment. These treatment programs focus on breaking the cycle of addition and include:

  1. Inpatient treatment: Inpatient facilities are rehabilitation centers were the patient stays at the compound for a period of several weeks or months. Attending staff develop a treatment plan and the patient has access to enrichment and support groups.
  2. Outpatient treatment: These plans often take the form of court-mandated counseling and group therapy.
